Searching for more info on my grandfather Bev Chapman's see Lacroix family tree. Trying to find out if anyone here know's any Moyer's in Yankton area. My grandma Bev (mom is nora Lacroix) married John Moyer. Reading through a recently published book I found Moyer in the area. My grandma doesn't know if he's native. Though all these years people said he's "Black Dutch" then few weeks ago grandma said he might be native. John Moyer? Yankton? Any info.

I don't know if they were native or not, but there were some Moyers living in Gregory County (just west of the Yankton Reservation). They did marry natives. In my family, I have a Walter John Moyer (1908-1970), who was born and died in Gregory County. He married Jennie Mullen, she was Sicangu. Walter was the son of John Byrd Moyer and Anna Jessie Leslie.

John Moyer doesnot live here anymore, I am told he moved back to Ohio from where He originally came. He was in the Air Force back then,. I am also told his skin was a little dark.i also have been told he may have descent from the Pennsylvania Dutch.

I am a Kioke from Northern Ontario in Canada and very curious when i saw the last name mentioned on this site. Although Kioke is also spelt Keoke on here, I am wondering if it is the same. Maybe someone from the Keoke family can get back to me and maybe find out more about each other. Thanks.
